I have always wanted a home based business. I finally took the plunge.
In Jan.2005 I attended a conference and seminar about internet marketing. I figured, 'what the heck they're free.'
I meant to learn all I could. Turned out it was an elaborate sales pitch for some e-commerce stores that were priced way too high. The speakers touched on some important facts, techniques, and basic stuff. It was valuable information and, with some more research, I launched my Free Aloe Guy business. It has taken a lot of work, using what I have learned, and trial and error in some cases but my business is successful. I found a good niche. It doesn't pay much, though. I had the idea that this was something that might be in demand and not really available. I was right but the demand is quite small 3 to 6 orders a week; and I don't make much in profit. Still, I proved I could start a web-based business without risking any money. Gardening has been my hobby since I was a child. Making a living doing something I love is a worthy goal, I think. |
